A lot of people said there was "something missing" here, and I had a few ideas as to what that might be. For i thing, all the shrimp flavor is getting boiled or soaked out in water! Here'southward what I did: put the shrimp, tails off, in a shallow pan and season with some lemon juice and black pepper while you practice the rest (boil pasta h2o, mince garlic, etc.). When the pasta goes into the h2o, add the shrimp to a hot skillet with olive oil and butter. Cook information technology til pink, turning -- add the minced garlic when you lot're well-nigh 2 minutes away from washed. So drain the pasta and then combine THAT garlic-infused butter and oil and shrimp with the pasta, superlative with FRESH parsley, black pepper and cheese (and a hint of cayenne, if you want).

I have non cooked this particular recipe, but I would definitely modify a few things based on reading it. Offset of all use extra vigin olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I would sautee the shrip in olive oil, butter and a few cloves of fresh garlic. Garnish with some fresh basil and freshly grated parmesean cheese. Yous could also add some fresh peeled/seeded plum tomaotes.

Simple but not certain why some of the steps are in at that place? Like many others I did the following. 1. Pasta and strain 2. Saute the garlic, butter and shrimp in a pan. 3. Flavour with common salt, pepper, nuance of cayenne, onion powder, parsley, orageno. 3. Toss in pasta. iv. Serve. No leftovers and everyone loved it.

I think this is a very like shooting fish in a barrel dish, and the flavor suggests otherwise. But I did put my own spin on it. I sauteed the garlic in a pan in butter, then added the shrimp and sauteed, then the pasta.. with a little bit of salt and cheese.. like shooting fish in a barrel :)
01/23/2011
I made a lot of modifications and information technology turned out swell. I sauteed the garlic in olive oil and butter. Then I added the shrimp, 2 tomatoes, about 1 tsp of lemon juice, dash of pepper, dash of cayenne pepper, onion powder and about a tsp of tarragon. Served with the parmesan cheese. We loved it!

A succulent quick and easy shrimp and pasta dinner! I fabricated this every bit a surprise for my fellow - a huge shrimp fan - on a dark he had to work late. I used half the amounts of pasta and shrimp but the aforementioned amount of garlic sauce ingredients. Also, equally a response to a couple reviewers who sensed something was missing, I added a spoonful (probably a teaspoon each) of pesto sauce and parsely flakes, which added a wonderful subtle flavor. Succulent!! A wonderful quick recipe!

I read the reviews and adjusted the recipe. I used approximately ii tbsp of olive oil, and ii tbs of butter. I sauteed the garlic (fresh) until it started to chocolate-brown just a scrap. Next, I added the shrimp and cooked it until pink. I then added broccoli cuts, parsley, common salt, pepper. I finished it off with adding the cooked vermicelli. After placing a serving on a plate I garnished with fresh shredded Parmesan cheese. It was delicious and my husband loved it. Information technology was very light yet filling. I will be making this again particularly when fourth dimension is an outcome!
04/12/2005
I agree with many other reviewers...something is missing. Yous do demand to add something to spice information technology upwardly. I likewise grilled the shrimp instead of humid for better season. It'southward a good basic recipe, just needs tweaking. Thanks for the postal service.
02/07/2013
This was a recipe I personally posted when I was 16 and stumbled across over again last nighttime when I was searching for dinner ideas. After looking at the recipe, I have no idea what I was thinking posting it hither, only it is a good jumping off point. I make a variation of this now, but 12yrs later every bit I've matured, so has my cooking and so have my taste buds. I agree with everyone else - Swap the vegetable oil for EVOO, sautee the shrimp with garlic, EVOO, and a petty Italian seasoning, then add together some dominicus stale tomatoes and spinach for a little color and texture.
05/31/2004
Non totally unredeemable but this recipe needs some work! Afterward reading the reviews we decided to marinate some shrimp and grill it instead of humid it. So we converted the recipe for 12 servings for the pasta and followed the directions. The pasta was D-R-Y and admittedly flavorless! We added a bit more than butter and so added near a whole can of chicken broth to moisten the pasta and started throwing in lemon pepper seasoning and Tony Chachere'due south seasoning until it started tasting better. The dinner concluded up tasting very proficient merely it was more than through luck than from this recipe. I already had a recipe for lemon basil pasta and unfortunately this will non exist the i to supercede it.
04/14/2007
odd techniques - instead i sauteed the shrimp in butter and minced garlic. also, missing something - and so i seasoned with some salt, pepper, red chili flakes. it's simple enough to make but not that great in gustatory modality.
11/19/2007
This was a great recipe! Information technology's quick and easy. bang-up for a quick lunch. Y'all could use it with any kind of pasta.
11/twenty/2010
I give it 3 stars for the fact that information technology is an easy dinner to set, only information technology lacked on taste. We ate over 2 hours ago and everything however taste and smells like garlic. Don't get me wrong, we love garlic, we use it ALL the time, but with this it'southward all y'all taste. Information technology is a expert platform to start from, but don't stick with it lone. Thanks for sharing information technology, but it's not for us.
08/22/2011
I changed the recipe up a bit. I used the same vermicelle noodles and cooked them al dente. I grilled the shrimp (tails off) in spray butter, a teaspoon of h2o, and cooked them until they were almost calorie-free pink. I then added 1 tbsp garlic, and 1 tspn garlic chili sauce to add some estrus. In one case I tuckered the noodles, I combined the almost cooked shrimp (with tails off) to my pasta. I then added a 1 tbsp of olive oil, 1/4 to one/2 cup of warm water, two tbsp spray butter, and 1 tspn of garlic chili sauce. I continued cooking on low for an additional 2 to 3 minutes. I then topped with grated parmesan cheese, and basil. Information technology is delicious and low calories.
05/19/2006
This dish was okay, but didn't seem to take a lot of flavor. While I was making information technology, I added a little lycopersicon esculentum, some oregano, and a little basil and sauteed the three in some olive oil. I replaced the vegetable oil with olive oil equally well. I would suggest not microwaving the butter and garlic, but sauteeing the shrimp in a pan with them instead. Nothing seemed to take any flavor of the other ingredients.
08/08/2012
this dish was ok. i had to modify a few things or it would have been quite bland
06/22/2002
I thought it tasted good...merely my husband and I agree at that place was but something missing. Maybe a little more parmesean cheese...or a touch more garlic.
09/14/2010
Well I changed it rather a lot. Added i tub of foam cheese, ane glass of white wine( i for me also) roasted some corn then added that and as well some broccoli. As well added 1/2 red onion.Oh and yes more than butter:) Salt and pepper and italian seasoning. The kids loved it!!!!!!!
07/28/2010
For all of these people who said there was something missing, OF COURSE THERE WAS. This is a typical, very standard garlic shrimp recipe for a quick meal, its perfect canvas for all of your different tastes, myself I add a compression of pepper flakes to add a fiddling heat!
12/02/2009
I have fabricated this dish a couple of times and liked information technology a lot, but the second fourth dimension I made information technology I put basil in it and it came out fifty-fifty better.
05/17/2013
Once the food was finished it was very bland and not a lot of season; i tried to make information technology better past adding foam of mushroom, dried peppers, and some table salt. the sause made it a little better and added some season. overall i wouldn't recommend this recipe to anyone and i was very disapponted with how the nutrient came out.
09/12/2008
I sauteed the shrimp with extra virgin olive oil, garlic, and butter then tossed it with cooked pasta and added the parmesan, some garlic pulverisation and a bit of cayenne. It was a quick and easy meal.
08/18/2010
What's missing is lemon juice...if you put a piffling squeeze it makes it popular. I also sauteed the shirmp in the butter, which I used about 5 Tbsps, added green onions, fresh parsley, fresh diced mushrooms and even added a little heavy whipping cream for a fiddling creaminess!
03/14/2007
I used butter, olive oil, and white vino. I added some OLD BAY seasoning also. Very tasty and quick to make a definate keeper!
x/xiv/2007
My family unit and I thought this was FANTASTIC. Everyone ate their entire plate. Very simple to make. I likewise sauteed blood-red pepper and vidalia onion to give information technology colour and melted the garlic on the stove. A three pot meal is GREAT in my books.
01/15/2011
i sauteed the shrimp in butter and clove of garlic. after it was done I added flour so milk to make a sauce. Turned out real proficient.
02/20/2008
Seemed to make more than sense to saute the cleaned shrimp (tails off) in the butter and garlic rather than boiling seperately. Also ended upwards adding atleast ii or 3 Tablespoons more of butter so that the pasta wouldn't be and then dry out. Salt, pepper and onion pulverisation to taste. Very good with these minor alterations.
10/xi/2007
Information technology's a good base for a recipe. I took the advice of others and changed to olive oil and besides added old bay seasoning. I also added minced onions. It was pretty proficient!
05/ten/2014
I was looking for something quick and piece of cake one night and this recipe was a dandy "jumping off" bespeak for me! Used the basic recipe, added some spices - reddish pepper flakes in item - and whipped information technology up. Served it over pasta.
07/12/2007
Was very good. I added a can of diced tomatoes, broccoli, and already deveined shrimp, and some cheese. Yummo!
06/23/2006
Very nice recipe! I fabricated it for my boys and it was a large success!
01/13/2004
Information technology was okay... My children loved the shrimp, only they are shrimp lovers. My married man and I both thought it was bland. I might tweak it, and make it again, or maybe not.
01/14/2011
This dish was very easy to make my family loved information technology after a long twenty-four hour period at piece of work sometimes is so difficult to brand a expert domicile meal and this was a good dwelling repast done in 10 minutes with prep time added your family unit will love it…..dawn
01/02/2006
Dandy Recipe - Tastes great and was quick to make. I added 1 Tabl. parsley. A vegetable, like broccoli, would be a good addition.
12/22/2006
I thought this was fast, easy, and neat. I added some sun-dried tomatoes and served with garlic staff of life. My husband thoroughly enjoyed it also.
11/15/2006
Fantabulous! I added diced tomatoes, basil herb seasoning, and a little ruby-red pepper for a kick!
12/29/2002
My hubby loves this dish. I use extra virgin olive oil instead of vegetable, and also utilize more garlic and add some lemon juice. Before serving, I sprinkle with some chopped green onion for color as well as a petty extra season!
08/21/2007
This recipe was a good start, I added broccoli to mine. My husband loved information technology and I will be making this again.
07/thirty/2009
I really tin can not rate the actual recipe as is, I have fabricated this iv times and all 4 times I have made it based on CHEFSINGLEDAD's communication. I would never boil shrimp and practice not even own a microwave. Based on his advice I give information technology 5 stars!
xi/29/2008
this recipe was ok.if i made information technology again i would definitely double the amount of butter and oil because i found the pasta dryer then i like.also would sautee shrimp in garlic butter.
01/23/2006
I made a variation of this dish the night earlier grocery day when my cupboards were getting pretty bare. I used a shrimp ring that I only happened to take in the freezer. Subsequently thawing, I heated the shrimp with extra virgin olive oil, garlic pulverization (all of my fresh garlic had gone mouldy!), and some frozen mixed veggies for color. For the garlic butter I used both unsalted butter and margarine as well as garlic pulverization. It was a quick and piece of cake meal with the express ingredients that I had on hand. From at present on I'thou going to make sure I have a shrimp ring in the freezer!
03/xvi/2002
Very piece of cake to make and very tasty, I likewise added some table salt and lemon-pepper, and mixed all the ingredients together(once pasta was tuckered, of class!), adding more seasoned parmesan cheese in one case served on the plates. Will definitely brand once again!!
01/17/2012
We tried this recipe, after reading the reviews, and threw it our own special touches. Throw in a couple tomatoes, diced. Half an onion, and some spinach. Added alot of color and texture also as adding some skillful ol fashioned vitamins. Loved it this way :)
08/fifteen/2011
Good for and because of its simplicity. Not necessarily something you would be excited to serve company, but definitely yummy enough for a quick family repast.
05/22/2002
This is a great and extremely piece of cake recipe! I added two chicken breasts (cubed) to the mixture which was really good. If I were to utilize but shrimp, I would increase the amount to ii pounds.
03/22/2015
Good stuff, but I made some cooking modifications so I didn't rate it higher. I sauted the garlic with some lemon juice and diced greenish onions and added the peeled butterflied raw shrimp to the pan to let the shrimp to seer. I also added a dash of cajun seasoning. Served on elevation of hot pasta and sprinkled Parmesan cheese on top.
03/xiv/2012
Quick easy recipe, and great as leftovers!
03/03/2007
With a few personal touches, this recipe could be 5 stars. I used whole wheat pasta to give it some interest and a health heave, plus I added i tomatoe, lemon pepper, extra butter, and ittalian seasonings.
02/14/2009
Used 5 tablespoon of butter.Dillweed and some dill seed..A picayune flake of crushed pepper. four cloves of Garlic...Used alot of grated parmesan cheese. Which saved the twenty-four hours!! The more than the better! Pepper on top...had a Marinara sauce on the side...So you lot see I changed it a cracking bargain..but it fabricated it past doing that. :0)
09/15/2006
Good, only needed more. I added onion and marinaded information technology all with the shrimp in a skillet. I also added basil and parsley.
07/05/2000
This is a great recipe. It's easy, fast and very delicious. The only trouble I've had is trying to think what to add to it to jazz it up for a dinner party. I've tried calculation cerise pepper's, but it wasn't quite it. For everyday, it is perfect the manner it is. :)
02/01/2007
I found this recipe to be 1 of my familys favorites. It passes my teens picky taste buds and my husband thinks it's first-class. Very seldom do I discover something that pleases the whole family unit. I am a garlic lover and anything I can prepare that allows me to relish garlic is a favorite of mine.
07/24/2006
This is a simple, but succulent recipe. I did modify things just a chip. I sauteed the butter and garlic with the shrimp, instead of in the microwave. I as well added a bag of frozen summertime veggies, and sun-dried tomatoes..Simply heaven.
05/23/2011
I prepared this for lunch today. Loved it! Quick and piece of cake and filling! Yum!
xi/eleven/2004
I thought this recipe was pretty skillful. The only change I made was that instead of boiling my shrimp in water I boiled them in beer (I do this when I make shrimp cocktail as well) It adds just the slightest flavor to the shrimp. I also increased the amount of garlic.
02/22/2010
Like many others, I sauteed the shrimp in butter, olive oil & garlic. This was adept, though I feel it needs a little something more.
04/02/2007
This was soooo like shooting fish in a barrel to make...I added more than common salt & pepper for gustation....My family loved information technology!
12/04/2007
very dry, had to add alot of things to make it with flavor.
07/07/2007
I dear to cook, so I gave this recipe a effort. My friends LOVED information technology. The garlic shrimp was ever so tasty. Now we just have to make it with a lilliputian LESS sodium & cholesterol.
05/28/2005
Besides, for those who would like to know, i myself on top of calculation more garlic and butter added spaghetti sauce. That helped it a lot.
10/06/2007
I read some of the reviews earlier attempting this dish so I tin can't objectively rate this recipe considering I deviated from the instructions. First, I boiled water, adding vegetable oil and salt, and added the shrimp. I did the same in a separate pot for the pasta, but I also added 4 tablespoons of tomato paste to give it some color and flavour. Then I drained the shrimp and took the tails off. So I put butter on a hot skillet and threw the shrimp in. I sprinkled powdered garlic all over it. I and so poured the butter & shrimp into the pasta and mixed it up. I served it with toasted garlic staff of life and the kids (both toddlers) gobbled it up and the wife couldn't stop raving near it. I would suggest too adding warm tomato sauce on the side.
01/25/2009
This recipe was a skillful base for a meal. Following the ideas from other posts, I added more seasonings to help add season and it was very proficient! I added crushed ruby pepper, garlic pulverisation, parsley and oregano.
07/15/2007
Roast the garlic first, and add some fresh basil or fresh dill. Some white vino would add some pop as well.
xi/05/2013
A quick and easy dinner that is not and then heavy on the wallet. I did do a few things differently though. First, heating the oil until almost smoking, then adding the garlic until fragrant. So added the butter and shrimp, cooked until shrimp were pinkish. Finished the entire dish with a mixture of 1/4 tsp of rosemary and thyme and 1 tbsp of grated Parmesan cheese to requite it more flavor.
11/05/2005
following this recipe exactly yielded a rather flavorless dish. i spiced it up with fresh herbs & paprika and it came out much better.
06/17/2005
The pasta was dry out.
05/20/2013
It was ok, the sauce was very manifestly. It made the pasta taste patently. My team had to add sauce to it to give it flavor then it wouldn't exist so evidently. But the shrimp salvage information technology considering I beloved shrimp.
04/09/2003
Very quick and easy to make and it was great!
07/03/2004
A nice calorie-free tasting dish.
07/06/2006
I really liked this after a few minor changes. I added some garlic salt forth with salt and pepper. I take a three cheese blend of parmesan, asiago and romano cheeses, I used that. It definitely needs some color, so I'll probably add diced tomatoes adjacent time. Oh, does anyone know what is the purpose of putting the shrimp in warm h2o? Mine was simply in water for nearly two mins or and so.
05/31/2007
this was just 'ok'. A little too garlicy. Kind of a strange flavor. Non atrocious, merely I probably won't make information technology over again.
07/07/2020
Super easy and something dissimilar to serve my family on a warm summer evening. I added some sautéed green beans and used olive oil instead of vegetable. Would definitely brand again perhaps with different veggies.
06/22/2020
I did take the advice of other reviewers and cooked the shrimp in olive oil and minced garlic. Only this was the easiest recipe to follow!!
01/17/2014
I added a few actress ingridents basil/pesto sauce mushrooms and crushed tomatoes!!
06/06/2005
Very adept! Tin't wait to get in once again.
07/17/2005
when i found this recipe, i was really skeptical that it would be good, especially considering information technology but takes about v min from prep to eating. simply, when i tasted it, i was in honey!!! i love this recipe and have used it many times when i pressed to find something to feed everyone for dinner! bully recipe!!
06/07/2010
Very light, filling and like shooting fish in a barrel!
07/12/2016
It was missing something I needed a impact more flavor I used a stick of butter and pinch of salt and the cheese still missing something only other than that nifty. Will follow some of the other suggestions side by side fourth dimension similar tomatoes and lime.
06/27/2012
I loved this! My married man was dubious considering he thought it would exist like a margarita (he doesn't beverage). After eating all the strawberries, he got a spoon and started eating out of the bowl! Then inexpensive compared to commercial stuff and so fresh. I highly recommend this!
03/22/2006
Tried this recipie and what a wonderful dish to set before my family unit. The raved about the taste and devored information technology
06/30/2018
This was a real simple and easy dish to eat. I've used jumbo shrimp and let it boil from half-dozen-9 minutes for pinkness. I wouldn't change a matter and would make information technology over again.
08/10/2010
this is the second time I have made this recipie, so easy, so succulent, and all but for me.
04/12/2016
This dish is pretty bland. Information technology needs some kind of veggie, .like broccoli maybe.
10/04/2009
Like anybody else, I used the recipe every bit a jumping off point. I sauteed peeled shrimp in butter and 4 cloves of minced garlic. I added a little frozen spinach to the pasta (I used sparse spaghetti) and seasoned everything with parmesan-garlic italian pasta seasoning. I did similar my version, and so did my married man, who unremarkably thinks all pasta needs to be served smothered in sauce. I'm certain I'll volition arrive over again, maybe fifty-fifty endeavour something a fiddling unlike with the seasonings adjacent time.
04/03/2015
Added Chopped lycopersicon esculentum for flavor.
01/24/2021
This lives upward to its reputation every bit piece of cake and foolproof, and it can easily be scaled upwards or down in servings. I sauteed the shrimp and added chopped basil and coarsely ground blackness pepper.
06/02/2010
Thank you for the recipe! Could use a fleck more sauce for the amount of shrimp and pasta in the recipe. I concord with a few other reviewers that sauteeing the shrimp beforehand is a skillful improvisation.
07/11/2009
Not a bad outset. Withal, instead of nuking the butter and garlic and boiling the shrimp, I sauteed the garlic with some chopped onion and added the cleaned shrimp once the onions were translucent. Seasoned the mixture with lemon pepper, so drained the pasta and mixed it into the shrimp once the shrimp were cooked. I never boil shrimp. Either sauteed or grilled.
04/29/2007
Even when I added flavour past including tomatoes, spinach, basil, oregano, and pepper, this was nonetheless merely somewhat tasty. Non as well sure what else you could add without making this into another recipe.
04/22/2016
Easy and quick. We really enjoyed it and will definitely make it over again!
12/18/2002
I WAS Non IMPRESSED WITH THIS PASTA. I THOUGHT IT WAS Actually BLAND. I AM Non QUITE Sure WHAT It WAS MISSING. I TRIED EXTRA PARMESAN CHEESE BUT THAT DID NOT WORK. IF I KNEW WHAT WOULD Give IT SOME More than FLAVOR I MIGHT Effort IT Over again.
04/04/2020
Easy to make and very succulent.
03/17/2020
I used crushed ruddy instead of blackness pepper. I as well add a little butter to the evoo toward the end of sauteeing the garlic... And sometimes a pinch of dried herbs like herbs de provance. Occasionally, I will add some small cuts off cooked cauliflower to the dish.
12/29/2020
Instead of boiling shrimp sauteed it in garlic butter instead on another reviewers mail service.
09/12/2016
I make this quite often. We are garlic lovers so I triple the garlic. fast, easy and succulent,
12/05/2003
I loved this recipe, just I added some stuff. Not just did I melt the butter on the stovetop as suggested, I added 1 tablespoon of lemon pepper and 1 pound of jalapeno sausage to give this dish a gustatory modality with a boot!
01/27/2004
I am giving this a five....considering I loved information technology....but tweaked it a little....I made five servings pasta, nigh 3 tbs butter...2 very big garlic cloves, and five servings shrimp....it was fantastic....sprinkle on your ain parmesan....yum...
05/xi/2010
Great! I add together cerise pepper flakes and parsley! I as well utilize olive oil instead of vegtable! We have this a couple times a calendar month!
10/09/2016
My family unit loved this pasta but like the others I changed a couple of things. I seared the shrimp on a skillet with minced garlic and butter and olive oil. I also added sun dried tomatoes and parsley when mixing the pasta together. It was delicious.
